Honey
Honey in perfumery is usually beeswax absolute (solvent-extracted from honeycomb) or a synthetic accord of phenylacetic acid, methyl anthranilate, and coumarin. It smells of sweet beeswax, pollen, and a faint animalic, almost urinous edge — the source of honey's slightly 'dirty' character. Honey pairs naturally with indolic florals (jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose), and it's the heart of Hermès Hermessence Ambre Narguillé (honey + amber), Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey, and Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet.
