Peach
Peach in perfumery is built around gamma-undecalactone (the so-called 'aldehyde C-14'), a synthetic lactone that smells of soft, creamy, slightly coconut-like peach skin. It's the defining lactonic fruit — softer and less tart than apricot, with a fuzzy, skin-like richness. Peach is the heart of vintage aldehydic florals (Chanel No. 5, Rochas Femme) and a fixture of the entire 'lactonic floral' family. Modern peach compositions include Tom Ford Peach Noise and a number of niche fruity florals.
