Fig in perfumery usually means fig leaf absolute (green, milky, slightly coconut) rather than fig fruit (sweeter, jam-like). The 'fig' note is built around the lactonic, milky character of the leaf and stem, with a green, slightly coconut-sweet profile. It's the defining note of the entire fig-leaf genre — Diptyque Philosykos, L'Artisan Parfumeur Premier Figuier, and Hermès Un Jardin en Méditerranée all rest on it. Fig is also one of the most 'photorealistic' notes in perfumery: it instantly reads as 'fig tree.'
