Magnolia

FloralModerate longevity

Magnolia is a large-petaled flower whose scent sits between lemon, neroli, and tuberose — bright on top, creamy underneath, with a faintly spicy clove-like edge. It's rarely used as a natural absolute (expensive and unstable) and more often reconstructed as an accord of neroli, ylang-ylang, and ionones. Magnolia is the heart of Jo Malone Magnolia & Lily, Hermès Hermessence Muguet Porcelaine (adjacent), and several niche bridal compositions.
